Splitfox respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data is (and is not) collected when you use the application.

General Information
Data Storage
Settlements created in local mode are processed and stored in your browser. Creating an account does not upload them automatically.
If you create an account, SplitFox stores your profile, preferences, authentication records, and active sessions in its Cloudflare-hosted back-end.
Account and authentication
An optional account stores your name, e-mail, preferred currency, language, linked sign-in methods, and session metadata. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes.
E-mail verification and password reset messages contain expiring links. Google sign-in is optional; Apple sign-in is not currently offered.
Existing local settlements are never uploaded merely because you register or sign in. Each upload requires a separate action.
Analytics
Splitfox uses Google Analytics to understand how the application is used and to improve its functionality.
After you consent, Google Analytics may collect technical and statistical data such as:
- visited pages
- device and browser type
- approximate location (country or region)
- IP address processed by Google under its policies
Google Analytics does not receive names, expense descriptions, or amounts stored in your Splitfox settlement.
Third-Party Services
Google provides optional account sign-in and, after consent on public pages, Google Analytics. Google processes that data under its own privacy policy.
Cloudflare hosts the application back-end, database, security controls, and transactional e-mail delivery infrastructure.

Security and retention
Account traffic is encrypted in transit. SplitFox uses secure, HTTP-only cookies, origin and CSRF checks, rate limits, verified e-mail, and sessions that you can revoke.
Account and synchronized settlement data are kept while your account is active. The account cache on this device is removed on sign-out. You can delete an online settlement or your account in the app; contact support@splitfox.app for other privacy requests.
Your Choices
You may choose to accept or reject analytics cookies at any time using the cookie consent banner.
If you reject analytics, Google Analytics will not be loaded. You can change this setting in the page footer.
You may use SplitFox without an account, sign out at any time, revoke other sessions, and contact support@splitfox.app about access or deletion of account data.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page.
